Before the upgrade to Windows 10 I had Windows 8 , I was able to stretch the screen when I changed my aspect ratio to something like rather than the usual I had to manually go and change this in my Graphics Properties, but now nothing seems to work.

That’s as far as I got, and to no surprise, there wasn’t any tab that helped. The ‘scaling’ tab looked promising, but as of now the only option for me is ‘maintain display settings’ due to my setup. Edit: I just changed my resolution to x on my computer and was able to stretch out my screen to fit appropriately.
Even though this shouldn’t really be a permanent fix, it works for now! Under resolution, is your resolution set to the one marked Recommended , if it is not then it should be.
If it says Microsoft Basic Display Driver, you do not have the correct driver loaded and you will have to download it from the Intel Website. Once the correct display driver is loaded, your resolution is then set according to the display capability. So for Instance if you have a Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community. Search the community and support articles Windows Windows 10 Search Community member. After doing online research for 2 days , here’s what worked for me. DaveM Independent Advisor. To be honest, i found out this issue because i need to change the resolution for playing games from the Microsoft Store: most of them only start with the desktop resolution, however my GTX is not able to render graphics at that one, so i need to lower it by changing from windows settings.
However, while setting in example the x, as you said, games still start on 4K, so here you also have a number 3 to why i am sure the resolution is not changing :. I have got new additional information about my issue: i tried something else and found out weird things.

Hi ElveonX If you go to that settings page and change your resolution from x If so, this is the expected behavior when changing resolutions, because of the amount of pixels being generated on your screen.
What makes you think your resolution is not changing and what do you want to happen on your screen when you make that change?
