We are happy to help! External Display Volume Control – You can now adjust the volume of an external display that has been selected as a sound output device using the system volume control. The volume of the external device will remain relative to the system volume. This app would just randomly select the audio output and it would at times glitch to a point where the app doesn’t provide any audio to your selected output.
The 3D Surround doesn’t really provide that surround feel, it doesn’t provide that audio channel separation that an actual cinema audio system provides.
Lately this app has been performeing really unusual, as it would make the audio of what I’m watching or listening in the background stutter. Which I don’t understand why. I hope they would fix that issue in either newer current build updates or upgraded builds. The Boom 3D audio app is one of the best apps I’ve downloaded for the Mac in a long time. I have very good headphones, the Meze 99 Classics.
So, the audio was already more than satisfactory. Words are superfluous, the increase in sound quality is immediately noticeable. They have somehow managed to increase the sound volume without causing any noticeable distortion. Each of the 3D settings is great, so pick whichever one suits whatever your are listening too. I just appreciate great sound quality. While this application is seemingly the only one out there with relative competency and as many features, the 3D effect still falls flat with both speakers and headphones, a clear selling point. The sound flickers like static. I tried turning on the compatibility button but that doesn’t help at all. I’ve never had an issue with this app on any device til now. I would like to use this app every time I listen to music as I really do enjoy the amplified sound and bass effect that it creates Unfortunately though because of constant crashes, songs randomly stopping constantly, getting logged out of whatever music service you choose, and a horribly designed play queue system, I only have the patience to use it once or twice a week when I’m actively using my phone so I can keep hitting play and reopening the app after crashes.
Because I am moderately hard of hearing in the high frequency ranges , I use the Boom 3D app. I have been using one or another version of Boom on my Mac Mini for years, and now it’s also installed on my Google Pixel 4a. I bought and paid for the app on each platform… mostly due to the concerns about advertisements.
I have a custom equalizer setting that I named “Tinny Phone”. It helps me hear sibilance in the caller’s voice. It’s literally changed my ability to talk over the phone and to listen to interviews, audiobooks and podcasts.
Boom has no effect whatsoever on the sound the Podcasts app puts out.
