Hi, I have found various posts and documentation about the conversion of Windows Server Essentials to Windows Server Standard. However, I could not find anything about converting Standard “down” to Essentials.
I take this to mean that it is probably not possible, but I wanted to post here just in case. Note that I have a trial version of Standard, so not sure if that complicates things further. Perhaps it is possible to convert from an evaluation copy of Standard to an evaluation copy of Essentials?
Monday, October 30, PM. No, it does not support. We can only convert evaluation to the full retail version. There are 2 types of Windows Server Essentials: 1. Windows Server Essentials. Main differences are server license and client CALs.
If you want to user Windows Server Essentials type 2 , only way would be migrating from Standard to Essentials if you want to keep current data and confirmation.
