I loaded my Photoshop Elements 5 software, and have been using it without any trouble for about 2 weeks. In the last few days it has been running, but has been acting a little twitchy. I used it yesterday without incident. Today when I tried to open it I get the error message “Attempt to access invalid address”. I’ve tried running the compatibility troubleshooter, but it doesn’t help. I’ve deleted and reloaded the program, but it doesn’t help either.

I do have everything triple backed up now — including a new MY Book for it. I’m running 13 with windows 10 with no problems. I’ve misplaced the serial numbers and am changing hard drives, and thought it might be easier to install a never used copy of 10 on my new drive, also with windows Partway through the installation it rolled itself back and refused to install.

The best xsolution there is for these type of problems is ro switch back to Windows 7. The more I read the more I want to stay with Win 7. Something goes wrong, reinstall it. I use some plug-ins with my current version of Elements applications. Are these plug-ins compatible with Windows 10? I have seen a Tech note about common problems for users migrating to Win 10 with their Elements version already installed; I can’t find it now, but the troubleshooting steps were: – to reinstall a Visual Basic library from the Microsoft link – and if that does not work, uninstall all Adobe products and reinstall them.
