If you can’t open Logic Pro or MainStage, try removing plug-ins. Try reinstalling the disabled plug-in or check with the manufacturer. Tried deleting the replace.me with no result. The preference/plugin manager is greyed out so can’t get to that.. updated.

But before you delete any cache files, please provide the required info. The list of Plugins is like long. I got all of them at once from someone who wants me to work on some of their Logic projects. I can’t get any useful idea of what is going on in those projects because I can’t get Logic to recognize any of the plugins I’m trying to add. I used as intsructed “Waves AU Reg utility 8. There is also an uninstaller, but when I start the uninstaller, it claims there are no wave products detected.
Can anyone help me figure out which audio cache I would delete to try and start from the beginning? I think that now I have the plugins in the right folder, if I can just start from square one hopefully things will work. Still, it may just be you’re running Logic in 64bit mode. You could probably run them as 32bit plug-ins Waves version 8 are 32bit-only If they are indeed scanned and successfully validated, you could then switch back to 64bit mode if you wish and use them via Logic’s 32bit Audio Units Bridge.
You’re right, the Waves website would make it seem that version 8 of their plugins wouldn’t work with my version of logic, only the person who I got these Logic files from is using the same version as I am and isn’t having an issue with the plugins. We both are running Logic in bit mode as well. The only plugins I have gotten to work are the ones that I never tried to run from the external hard drive.
I guess that is why it would make sense to me to try and delete whatever record Logic has of the plug-ins an audio cache? But I have no idea how to do this or whether or not it makes any sense.
Deleting the cache file will only force Logic to rescan plugins that are in these locations. If they’re somewhere in some external drive nothing’s going to happen. Is there any other name it could have or location it could be in? Mske sure you’re looking in your user Library folder. It’s hidden by default in Lion. I’m having this exact same issue.
I have like plug-ins that are recognized in AU Manager, but they “can’t be opened”. Did you guys ever figure out a work around? Would love to make use of all of these plug-ins. I’m totally out of ideas. I hope so too. It seems like I have to contact some heavyweight tech people for this I’ll of course post an eventual solution here. All fixed! Correction: The one is the main AU component folder with content I can’t fit into one screenshot , and the other component folder is this attachment. I have the latest version though.
Can you find it in any folder? Post screenshots of your main Library component folder. It must be there in some form. Do you use Novation Automap? Create a new folder in your Plug-ins folder and call it Disabled AU. Move all your plug-ins there. Flush the cache again and launch Logic.
Do you still get this error? Here’s the ‘Plug-Ins’ folder, in the user library though. Is that your user? Is that a finder window? It’s better to provide the whole window.
